Fields to Run in.....

I love running through these fields, chasing everyone,( Chase counter today; 2 Foxes, 4 Rabbits, 1 Pheasant) and apart from the rabbit treats, which I've sicked up in the back anyway, I'm hungry now, so its always nice to go home for breakfast.

Apologies. Long Absence

Hi There, I Apologise for my long absence from our Blog, The weather has been so bad here, with just the occasional bright spot of sunshine. Its made it so hard to get Mum prised away from her art to get out and take Photographs. Although I might add she has been out of the house, getting soaked on many daily regular trips walking me and caring and feeding our other family member Woozle.(which is probably why she prefers to dry out a bit in between)

Its drier today, still cold but there is the promise of spring in the emerging flowers.

I am just over a year old now, and can nearly cock my leg!! Yahh..

Oh,... Poppy prompted that the last comment wasn't the sort of thing to write in a blog post,.. sorry.. :)

Snow Play

Last Night I saw Snow for the first time, its wonderful, but cold on the paws.
This morning I played in the garden and enjoyed the alfresco bird poo ice lollies, ( which I really don't like that much), but I just love to see Mums reaction and she chases me which is always fun too.
Apart from the lollies, snow really doesnt taste of much really, but its fun to jump and roll in.

Hi!, from my Sick bed..

Hi There, I'm afraid I've been going through a rough patch lately, must be old age, you know bad back, not feeling too good. Then the pain killers gave me a dodgy tum, and put me off my food, which as you know, just isnt me at all. Still on the bright side I'm managing to get myself up now a little better, but I still sleep a lot and have had a few nose bleeds too, which after consulting with my vet, so, depending on how things progress I may be off to see him again soon. The nice ladies in reception behind the big counter all know me now, and come out to speak to me, which is nice and cheers me up, as I like a bit of attention, and it does seem to restore my appetite for the snacks they keep on the counter top.... Mum and I have come to the conclusion that Dad has got a wonky sense of smell, he keeps insisting the doggy treats smell of liquorice, when Mum and I know they smell just like beef stock cubes, we really can't take him anywhere!!.. You can meet some really nice dogs and people at the vets too, and unfortunately some real barkers, and rude ones as well. The number of times I've been shocked there by someone introducing themselves unexpectly with their wet noses.. no manners..

Art Critics a Puss

I Received a Flying Airball today. That's a Furball that comes by airmail if you were wondering, It was from The famous Cat, and feared Art Critic ‘Marmaduke Ginger Bits’. He would like an interview with me to discuss my art, for his new urban magazine, Cats in The City. I was surprised, and a little bit apprehensive, as I’ve heard he sharpens his claws especially well for interviews; I’ll let you Know.

Labradors have Stress Relieving Ears!

Mum has to visit the horsepital today, and has been taking full advantage of labrador stress relief. I know how she feels, I dread a Vets visit. We may not be brilliant at spelling, but labradors are the perfect calming influence, in an owners life.. Omm, woofy, omm

A Monet Moment

I was literally drooling all over a book on French impressionists, when I thought I might turn an arty paw in that direction today.

This is my latest pawtrait,inspired by a Mr.Monet; (Mum steadied my paw for the lilies)but the main part of the pawtrait is all mine....
While Mum and I held the brush, inspiration took hold of her and for some reason, she thought it might help if we both wore berets, apparently this was very funny, she kept giggling!
I myself really got into the spirit of the piece after the mood was set, and although I enjoyed painting, I wont be cutting an ear off if its not perfect, ear cleaning is bad enough..

Fishy Goings On......

Hi Food enthusiasts, Today Dad was having something called 'Sooshee' for lunch, He made a lot of fuss about it. Mum on the other hand steered well clear of it, I of course watched with interest, so intensely so that the moment a large portion hit the kitchen floor I was on it in a Flash. Dad had what Mum called a ‘Why me’ dance, a bit like I’ve seen the pigeons do. Well what a to do, it just tasted like raw fish to me, Dad never makes all that fuss about his fish bait. My humble verdict was, I’ve tasted better, .. actually Mum’s cheese sandwich smells pretty good.. mmmmm

Canvas Art

Hi ..Today was a first, I placed my right paw forward for some pawtrait art. At First when Mum started to busy around, I got a little worried, cos she normally only lays things out directly in front of me, when its ‘Ear Cleaning Time’., as I was suspecting the worst, it came as a pleasant surprise to find out I was only going to paint some art.
Here's my first miniature canvas, I used acrylics, I’ve titled it,' Trick or Treat’, as I think this sums up the season, and the eternal dilemma life asks of us dogs.

Wheat Free Menu

Well Mum and I, participated in an Etsy Virtual Discussion, a new experience. One of the topics was what do you like to see in Blogs, apparently its 'the food we all eat'. Now Mum couldn't see why anyone would like to see what she eats and knowing what she does, I can totally see why!! (Actually its a lot of Chocolate, and cups of Tea). Now me I'm a Wagger and a Shaker, and I like to pad with the pack. I am incredibly interested in what Everyone eats, and hopefully drops onto the kitchen floor. I am a Wheat free girl, so I have healthy treats that include carrots and apple slices. Here is some of my daily food Platter.

Apologies to my Blog Readers; I'm afraid I could only get Mum to take a picture of this type of food, as she doesn't approve of my outward bound foraging of natural foods like cat cookies, and wild snacks.

Poppy, Who am I?

This picture is of me with my human Dad.

I'm a black Labrador; and I'm sure I'm nine human years old!, I forget. I was Named 'Poppy' when I was a young Puppy, apparently I was nearly Named 'Tahlula', but my human Dad put his foot down on that one, Thank Goodness; mind you I think it would have been a good name for my showbiz career. I was born locally and had quite a few brothers and sisters, I never knew my Dad; but my mum was named 'Daisy', and I used to see my sister 'Flea' sometimes.
I live with my human Mum and Dad, and its a comfortable life, apart from my diet. I love food, but I have to watch my waistline as I get older, actually Mum watches my waistline....
I enjoy walks in the countryside, where one can always chance the opportunity to try new 'al fresco' food experiences, and afternoon power naps. Excuse me, that reminds me, my paws are so tired, time for the executive nap..zzzzzzzz
