Autumns Here..

Hello, Its Prince, and this is my first official post, as Auntie Poppy's apprentice.
Its definately Autumn here, piles of scrunchy leaves to jump in Toadstools to roll on, slugs and Pigeon poo to investigate. I had a lovely time playing in the garden today, until a bunch of local Crow boys started cawing at me, they just sat on the roof , way up there out of reach and crow called names at me, very rude ones I think!
Anyway heres some pictures of me, cos Aunt Poppy says its 'good blogging' to add photographs. Prince x

PLEASE BE AWARE of Fur Trims and Products

Poppy and Prince would like to highlight There is a growing trade being pushed on unsuspecting consumers. Those fur trims, dyed in beautiful coloures, mixed with silk and other fabrics are mostly shipped from China.THEY are NOT BEAUTIFUL Because They once belonged to Cats and Dogs, Puppies and Kittens too, which are all cruelly skinned alive, those that don't die of shock, lay skinned and wimpering in agony thrown in heaps.
I know no one wants to see such things or hear about them, but they are happening NOW...
Please Pop over to Scout & Freyia's Blog and read how to avoid 'these' wares and how to register your protests, to STOP this vile trade.

Prince Progress Report.

Heres our boy, tired out after a full day, I'm afraid Poppy censored the second picture, as she thought it unappropriate for puppy internet viewers.
Prince is progressing well we finally got his tummy under control, which is great news, and he is proving a complete Star around the house and home.
Dad has a few problems when we let him off the lead, as he now wants to meet everyone and every dog he sees. Although he is totally friendly and doesn't jump or paw people, we realise not everyone is overjoyed to see a black streak of joyous pup tanking towards them, and the serious issue of no recall when road crossing could be involved, will have to be resolved somehow for safetys sake.

We just love him.

Assistant Coming Along Nicely.

When all things are said and Done, I must admit for a young Pup Prince isnt doing too badly with Mum's Assistant training. Today I supervised him while he helped model some of Mums works in progress. Jester Batons and a Martins Brothers Inspired bird. Prince performed a perfect wobble test on the bird, just enough pressure on the cushion with his chin, I was very impressed he didn't chomp it and run off actually. Poppyx

Prince Am I Getting Bigger..

We will have had Prince as part of our Family, for 4weeks this coming Tuesday. In that time he has put on (10lbs), ophs 11lbs in weight, which we think has gone into making him taller, and growing his permanent teeth which have all seemed to come at once. He has been a little Star, and is proving to be a real cuddly pup , as well as sneaking a look in on me when I wasnt feeling well the other day , and went upstairs to get a lie down, this was exactly what dear Poppy used to do.

"Actually I told him to come with me, and Check on you Mum"

Oh, I should have known, Thank you Pops.

Midnight Prince

Midnight Prince for A Day, is a bit of a mouthful but that is the Kennel name for Mum's new baby she is looking after. He is very skinny for 4 months old, and I bet he won't have to diet Like I had too, boys get all the luck! He was a bit frightened, and a bit of a baby at bedtime, so I came down to comfort him for a bit. He was soon fast asleep in 10 minutes, so I didnt stay after that, because he snores!, another typical boy thing. Anyway he is very clean in his habits, which I approve of , especially after Mum bathed him in Ren Apricot wash :), I also approved he wasn't washed in Mums and mines Rose wash, which is really only for us Girls. I think he will be Named Prince, Failing that he could be 'The dog formally known as Prince'!..PoppyX

Summer's Longest Day.

Today is the longest day of Summer, Midsummer, making one think of faeries,
Shakespear's own play
'Midsummer's Nights Dream', and the saddening thought that the days will now start to shorten.
But many more glorious summer days to come yet , before Winter.

Message of Love

Hi, Its me Poppy,
I don't want to upset anyone, but I had to tell you where I am now. It all began when I had to leave earth and home as I knew it. Mum and human Dad were so upset, so I tried to stay as long as I could, but I felt so light and was gently drawn away. I wasn't frightened, just felt a bit strange and tingly. I had no more tummy ache or pains in my legs and back any more. There was someone near me, although I couldn't see anyone, I felt them there, and it was comforting, so I closed my eyes and slept. The next feeling I was aware of, was warm sunshine on my face, I could hear birdsong, and I could smell grass and animals. I was frightened to open my eyes because it didn't smell like the home I'd just left, but a soft voice spoke to me and stroked my head, and I felt brave enough to look.
A beautiful lady sat on the grass next to me, stroking me gently, and her touch seemed to fill me with joy and the desire to play and run again.
As I lay there and looked around I seemed to be in a beautiful garden full of other animals running and playing and having fun. There were kittens chasing each other, and dogs playing tag, and others just laying in the shade of the trees. The lady stood up and I knew she wanted me to follow, we walked through many gardens, we passed rivers and streams. Ran together through meadows full of horses, woods with beautiful spotted deer, all was peaceful, and I knew there was a place for all. We finally returned to the garden where I had first woke, where there were many old friends and family gathered to greet me. There is no way I can tell you the joy and love I felt, to see them all.
There are a few humans here too, there are some old monks, who will play ball endlessly with us, they are really funny, the puppies are always chewing their robes, which just makes them giggle and smile.. There are beings of light that seem to have a human shape with a suggestion of wings somewhere, except I've never seen them fly like birds, they just seem to shimmer when they move and appear, and then there are the Goddesses. They are the beautiful ladies who watch over us all, and cradle the young ones and stroke and sing to us. I have also seen a few humans that live with their animals, there is a small boy who sleeps with the rabbits in the fields, they all snuggle up to him at night, and they look very happy.
We have a mist pool where creatures can watch their loved ones and family. I have seen animals dive into the pool, I think they visit earth, I'm not sure yet. There is one little terrier who sits all day by the pool watching his mistress, I thought at first this must be very sad, but when I sat close to him I could see his mistress too . She is a very old lady, and often picks up his picture and talks to him, he answers with a bark, and she seems to hear him and looks up. He wags his tail like crazy, all the time, so I know he is happy just watching, and I think they will be together again soon.
I'm sorry I've made my mum cry again writing this, but the Goddesses and many fellow creatures wished me to help, by affirming their message of Love, and those bonds that are never broken. I didn't understand that, Goddess words, I hope you do.
I guess this makes me a doggy Ghost Writer now.
Love to all .. Poppyxxx
Mum & I want to celebrate our Family's Love, by giving away a piece of artwork to one of our Friends, to Join in, Just say Hi, or leave a comment on this post.

Poppy

Poppy after fighting a number of illnesses over the last few months was helped to peacefully pass on to new adventures over the Rainbow bridge.
She was a very Special little girl. When not much more than a year old after I returned from hospital after a 10hour surgery operation for a brain tumor, she took upon herself to be my nursemaid. Every morning (although previously never entering the bedrooms), she bustled her way in and around to my side of the bed. Her nose would then ferret out my hand or face until I spoke to her, she would then lay down, and refuse to move till I managed to sit or get up. Poppy would then follow me religiously around the house this went on for the next year, till I was feeling a little better. Poppy's methods of communication were excellent, ranging from asking with her paw, waving and gripping!. Clearing her throat in a hmm hmm sound, licking her lips for a drink, the follow me lassie manoveour, and even going to collect a doggy tiolet bag herself and standing in front of me with it in her mouth so I got the subtle hint.
She spent her last hours in her favourite spot, the garden, on her bed, under the sunshade covered with a blanket, watching the world go by, comforted by both her human parents, till she finally relaxed peacefully away.

Oh Hi.

I managed to escape earth Hour without any accidents, that would be mainly be, not being trod on by Dad's size 9's, I actually found it very relaxing.
My health took a little step backward step recently, as my groin strain sidelined for a week, my enjoyable little walks.
Today, I was able to show Mum just how well I really am again, by twirling, and doing the 'Happy Dance' as my breakfast arrived , unfortunately this ended in my head hitting the food bowl in her hand and upending my breakie all over the living room carpet.
Of course I did my best to help her with the cleaning up, as usual.
I got a Flying Airball today from Marmeduke Ginger Bits. He will be arriving next month, to do a series of cat to cat interviews with Queen Divas for the magazine 'Cats in The City', very talented these cats, I didn't know he wrote as well as being an Art Critic!
He was also very excited to tell me he has an interview with Pussy Galore the James Bond film character. I didn't have the heart to tell him shes a human actress, still, I'm sure Honor will enjoy the catnip mouse he is bringing for her.
This news means I will have to get my paws in gear, and do a bit of pawtrait art for MGB's arrival, perhaps I can inspire Mum too.

Two Small Walks for Poppy..

Thank you all for your kind comments and well wishes, I'm Gradually getting better. I 've gone from being unable to get myself up without being lifted to my paws, to taking two 'slow but sure', little walks a day. This has cheered me up no end, as most patients will know, a hospital bed, no matter how comfortable gets to be a pretty boring place. Mind you that doesn't stop Mum keep puttting me back into it though, at every opportunity I think I have of escape. If I didn't know better I'd swear to it she has canine hearing senses, and Dad says, she has eyes in the back of her head, but I don't believe that!, as I've never seen any!
Oh, by the way, you small toy dogs have the canine gormet snacks maket really cornered! I found out this vital information, when I was off my food. Dad disappeared to the magic shops, and returned with the most delicious snacks to temp me, and they did, and these were specially made for you smaller girls and boys, You Lucky Dogs!

Poppy's Sunday Quote

The Hardest job kids face today, is learning good manners without seeing any
(Fred Astaire)
Same goes for Puppies, Fred
(Poppy)

Hi!, from my Sick bed..

Hi There, I'm afraid I've been going through a rough patch lately, must be old age, you know bad back, not feeling too good. Then the pain killers gave me a dodgy tum, and put me off my food, which as you know, just isnt me at all. Still on the bright side I'm managing to get myself up now a little better, but I still sleep a lot and have had a few nose bleeds too, which after consulting with my vet, so, depending on how things progress I may be off to see him again soon. The nice ladies in reception behind the big counter all know me now, and come out to speak to me, which is nice and cheers me up, as I like a bit of attention, and it does seem to restore my appetite for the snacks they keep on the counter top.... Mum and I have come to the conclusion that Dad has got a wonky sense of smell, he keeps insisting the doggy treats smell of liquorice, when Mum and I know they smell just like beef stock cubes, we really can't take him anywhere!!.. You can meet some really nice dogs and people at the vets too, and unfortunately some real barkers, and rude ones as well. The number of times I've been shocked there by someone introducing themselves unexpectly with their wet noses.. no manners..

Poppy's Friday Quote for Today, PQT

If wrinkles must be written upon our brows, let them not be written upon the heart.
The spirit should not grow old.
(James A.Garfield)
Playing with a ball is as much fun now, as when I was a Pup,
It just seems to move faster.
